Lightning, Close to Home
My first real lightning shot and the most unforgettable. The white drops were thought by many to be hail but they are simply rain illuminated by the strike that I'd estimate was no more than 100 yards away. Grateful to have captured this moment safely and without compromise photographically.

One of my favorite landscapes in winter. Sunset directly over "The Peak" (a mountain in Rappahannock County and part of Shenandoah National Park) ignited the sky and my imagination.

Had been chasing a strong storm and on my way back passed this church (Orlean Baptist) with the rainbow. Being an opportunist, I framed the rainbow behind the cross. The shapes fit.

Fire on the Mountain
I'd never seen a forest fire but we had one close by in 2012 - the Smith Run fire. At sunset, the sky turned a tone unique enough for me to go ahead and capture. Thanks to responders for containment.
