To a native east-coaster, the scene left me breathless; the expanse, lack of noise, traffic (and even cell signal!) was amazingly welcomed. Photographically, the dynamic range offered in the canyons is like nothing I've seen.
Somewhere south of Blanding and north of Monument Valley on 191 in Utah, I ran across this scene, having no idea what was their in the pitch black. An oncoming car provided the perfect light painting. One of my favorites from this year's trip.
Hadn't seen a pre-dawn portrait with light painting of Milky Way going into Mesa Arch. As one of the most photographed arches, I'd be surprised if it hasn't been done. This was the way I saw it in my mind though and love how it turned out.
